Venting Skylight Installation in Forestport, NY

Venting Skylight Installation in Forestport, NY

Venting skylight installation in Forestport, NY gives a room daylight and a way to let hot, wet air out. Warm air rises, so an opening skylight at the top of a bathroom or kitchen pulls steam and cooking heat out faster than a wall window. In a bathroom without a good exhaust fan, it also cuts down on mildew on the ceiling paint.

Venting skylights come in three types. Manual units open with a crank or a pole. Electric units run on a wall switch or remote and usually include a rain sensor that closes the sash when drops hit it. Solar powered units work the same way without running a wire through the attic.

Forestport, NY Skylight Repair handles the full venting skylight installation: framing the roof opening, installing the flashing kit with ice and water membrane, and building the light shaft. For electric units we coordinate the wiring. We check that the screen and sash clear the shaft walls before we close up the drywall.

If you already have a fixed skylight in the right spot, we can often swap it for a venting unit of the same size without reframing. Call (833) 548-0266 to plan a venting skylight installation.
